Discipline, defined as the ability to behave in a controlled and calm way in every condition, will require the seed of self-responsibility. Due to the fact that self-control has to be created gradually, children need step by step process in which they practice their conscious mentality and control. With this regard to assign some tasks train children create their own responsibility to a part of social beings. So what do parents have to do in terms of teaching children self-responsibility?

We cannot be in hurry to plant self-responsibility to children. They need process little by little to learn how to be disciplined. Therefore, there are several things that we have to concern in teaching discipline to children. First, start simple to complex. Children just have simple capacity of understanding about how to manage their life. Regular things the deal with every day would be the right object to address. Making bed tidy after sleeping, putting the shoes at the right place given at home, washing their own clothes, or tooth brushing right after breakfast and lunch might the good options to get started.

Second, don’t judge negatively but give warm appreciation over their try. As a matter of fact children have got sensitive response over the environment acceptance and legitimacy. Appreciation over their little success somewhat motivates them to do at least the same or even much better forward. Doing their given responsibility, parents would have to give the warm appreciation and support to keep on learning step by step. Hence the comfort atmosphere of learning by doing would be created safely in the mind of children by which they could explore much further.

Self-responsibility is one of the basic life skills that every one need to survive with over lifetime. Teaching children self-responsibility would contribute their readiness for any future conditions they will face. Especially discipline that becomes our main concern would be created much better by teaching them self-responsibility first.
